It's true, oil dissolves oil. By helping to dislodge and release impurities trapped in the skin, the oil cleansing method can transform the skin while being incredibly gentle and thorough. We chose the most effective combination of oils used traditionally for ages for their medicinal and cosmetic attributes. Castor oil is an ancient remedy for detoxification and can deeply penetrate skin to fight bacteria and inflammation. Sunflower seed oil is high in antioxidants and nutrients and has been shown to reduce inflammation of eczema, acne, and other conditions, helping to balance the natural sebum. Camellia oil is revered for its anti-aging and skin tightening properties while being very light + easily absorbed and golden jojoba is incredible at clearing bacteria while effectively moisturizing, being the closest to our own natural sebum than any known plant "oil". The gentle balance of therapeutic essential oils, including our favorite, Blue Tansy, for its incredible ability to reduce inflammation and relieve stress in the body and mind, help further the cleansing and regenerating effects of this method.
~Note: If treating highly problematic skin it may react for the first few days as it may be detoxifying and releasing old issues. If skin worsens after one week, discontinue use, however, this method can be used on all skin "types" and you may find you don't have a type after regular use and your skin has re-balanced itself.
One of the key factors in using the oil cleansing method is taking the time to massage the oil into skin thoroughly, allowing dirt, make-up, and bacteria to be gently removed while stimulating the healing effects of circulation. Use a small amount and massage in circular motions into skin for a few minutes. Follow with a warm, steamy cloth to further the opening of the pores and breathe in the therapeutic essential oils. Remove all of the cleansing oil with a warm, wet cloth, then spritz on toner, serum and favorite moisture. This oil can also be applied after cleansing to replace natural sebum and for it's healing properties, and be used as a pre-wash conditioning hair treatment.
