Reishi mushroom - Sustaining levels for the most powerful antioxidants in the skin, namely ergothioneine and reduced glutathione, Reishi mushrooms have been revered for centuries as the "mushroom of immortality", providing antioxidant-rich adaptogens (substances that help the body to adapt to stress and fatigue) that also may prevent premature aging and free radical formation, also enhancing sun protection. The polysaccharides in the reishi mushroom may also provide humectant and deeply hydrating benefits which assist in decreasing fine lines and wrinkles, as well as repairing and reinforcing the moisture barrier.
Golden Jojoba - Containing many essential fatty acids, powerful antioxidants and vitamins + naturally rich in Vitamins A, D and E, this gentle oil works to regenerate skin cells. It also contains fatty acids Omega 6 and 9, which are antiviral and work to repair damaged skin cells. Blended with antioxidants that fight premature ageing, jojoba oil helps to brighten dull skin by providing essential moisture, allowing the skin to regenerate and rejuvenate itself. Being naturally gentle and non-irritating, jojoba is the closest known "oil" in nature to our own sebum, making it perfect for basically every skin type; it balances oily skin, soothes sensitive skin, hydrates dry skin and helps can even be used on acne and breakouts.
Prickly Pear - Shown to moisturize and soften wrinkles, stimulate new cell growth, calm inflammation, help restore elasticity, and brighten complexion, prickly pear seeds are extremely rich in vitamins E and K, essential fatty acids and antioxidants.
Moringa - The natural vitamin C in moringa oil boosts collagen, helping reduce fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. Being one of THE most vitamin-rich and nutrient-dense "super foods", moringa oil makes for an excellent active ingredient thanks to its antioxidants, antibacterial, and nourishing properties. We use the organically grown moringa from our farm in many of our concoctions.
Sea Buckthorn - Promoting skin's hydration, elasticity, cell regeneration, and even helping to treat and prevent acne, sea buckthorn oil also has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling and redness associated with many skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. SB oil is also a renowned anti-aging skin ingredient, known for its healing benefits, skin hydration, and production of more collagen that helps to plump your skin, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles over time.
Comfrey - Comfrey, or knit bone, is full of allantoin and cell regenerative properties that may help heal and replenish the skin, speed up the recovery of breakouts, and has been used to diminish fine lines and age spots over time.
Ashwaganda - Helping in the production of natural skin oils, it's also known to aid in the production of our skin's enriching compounds like hyaluronan (hydration), elastin (suppleness) and collagen (strength). It also helps to calm and moisturize the skin, soothing irritations due to its bio-active components.
Zinc oxide (non nano) - A highly revered, time tested component in natural or reef friendly sun protection products as it reflects UV rays, providing a barrier between the skin and the sun. Creating a protective layer on the surface of the skin, it can also help to keep the skin hydrated and moisturized. This is because it prevents TEWL or water loss from the skin to the environment. Zinc oxide also has antibacterial properties which helps to protect the skin from bacteria while keeping the products stable, helping to prevent spoiling or contamination. The added benefit to the antibacterial properties is that it may help to reduce secondary infections in acneic skin that occur when blemishes cause open wounds, making it a common ingredient in antiseptic or acne treatments.
Shake well to disperse all of the goodness. A few drops goes a long way, massage well onto clean face or body part for all day protection + natural coverage. A thicker application may be desired for more UV blocking with more intense sun exposure. Due to there being zero fillers or emulsifiers, and the zinc oxide being non nano (non micro), the seed oils may separate if not used regularly and will need a little shake to blend. This is what a natural, organic product will do when it contains only 100% ACTIVE ingredients without artificial additives. Best if used within a year to maintain the highest Chi.
